Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden
Las Vegas is home to the world famous Ethel M Chocolate factory which ships to 50 states and overseas including their unique and popular liquor-filled line of chocolates. Here you can take the short (about 100 yd) self-guided walking tour of the factory and actually watch candy being made from start to finish (be sure to arrive well before closing time or you’ll mostly see them cleaning up for the day) . Then you can munch on free samples while picking out sweet gifts to send to friends. Don’t forget to stroll the amazing, botanical cactus gardens outside the factory. Hundreds of beautiful blooming cacti are named and categorized. At Christmas time this is one of the must-sees as all the plants are draped with lights and decorations. There are even some small plants and seeds available to take home and start your own botanical cacti wonder garden. But remember, it takes a long time to grow a palm tree from a seed. Corner of Sunset and Mountain Vista. 702-433-2500 or 1-800-438-4356.

Bonnie & Clyde’s “Death Car”
If you’re stopping by Primm, NV (Stateline – about 35 miles south of Las Vegas on Interstate 15) stop in at Whiskey Pete’s Hotel & Casino to see the actual bullet-riddled Ford in which the famous bank robbers had their final shoot out with the FBI. A letter from Ford Motor Company authenticates the car as Clyde’s. And a letter he wrote to Ford Motor Company offering his praises as a fine get-away car is also displayed. Read about the last years of Bonnie and Clyde’s turbulent life style. A fascinating piece of American history. Recently added is the actual blood stained, bullet-holed shirt Clyde was wearing when he was killed. Also on display is a restored Dutch Schultz-Al Capone bullet-proof Gangster Car. The intriguing display is located in the rotunda that joins the resort to The Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas. Adm: FREE 7 days, 24 hours – 702-382-1212.
